On Wednesday, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) revealed a 16-member squad for the initial Test of the two-match series against India, marking the return of seasoned wicketkeeper-batter Niroshan Dickwella to the Test lineup.

Dhananjaya de Silva will captain the team, with Kamindu Mendis serving as his vice-captain. Dickwella steps in as the wicketkeeper due to Kusal Mendis being sidelined with an injury. Additionally, batter Pathum Nissanka has not been selected for this match.

The batting order includes Lahiru Udara, Nishan Madushka, Dinesh Chandimal, Pasindu Sooriyabandara, and Sonal Dinusha.
