Sourav Ganguly's New Role with Delhi Capitals
New Delhi: On Tuesday, former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly was named the head coach of the Delhi Capitals for the upcoming 2027 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
Ganguly's journey with the Delhi Capitals began in 2019 when he joined the team as an advisor.
Throughout his tenure, the 54-year-old has taken on various leadership roles, including serving as the Director of Cricket for both the men's and women's teams.
"I am excited to step into the Head Coach position in the IPL. The Delhi Capitals franchise holds a special place in my heart, and I have developed a strong bond with it over the years," Ganguly expressed in a statement released by the franchise.
"Having collaborated closely with the owners, management, support staff, and players, this role presents an exhilarating challenge for me. We possess a talented roster and have showcased an impressive style of cricket recently.

"I am eager to collaborate with the team, embrace the new season, and cultivate a strong and fearless squad," he added.
Earlier this year, the Capitals concluded the IPL season in sixth place.
