Mandhana Makes History with Record-Breaking Performances

At the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, India’s opener Smriti Mandhana made headlines by becoming the player with the highest number of centuries in women's international cricket. She achieved her 18th century, surpassing the previous record of 17 held by former Australian captain Meg Lanning. Notably, South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt also has 17 centuries, while West Indies' Hayley Matthews follows with 15. This remarkable achievement occurred during India's Women's Asia Cup match against Hong Kong on Thursday.

In addition to this milestone, Mandhana became the first Indian woman to hit two centuries in T20 internationals, overtaking her captain Harmanpreet Kaur. Furthermore, she now holds the record for the most runs scored in women's international cricket, amassing a total of 10,880 runs, which surpasses the previous record of 10,868 set by former India captain Mithali Raj.
