Sharma's Performance in the Third Round

Shubhankar Sharma faced challenges in the third round of the British Masters, hosted by Sir Nick Faldo, finishing with an even par score of 72. Despite achieving four birdies, he also recorded two bogeys and a double bogey. After a promising start, he dropped from T-13 to T-33, concluding the 54 holes at 4-under.

Penge and Hillier Lead After a Busy Saturday

Marco Penge and Daniel Hillier emerged as co-leaders heading into the final round. The weather had caused disruptions throughout the week at The Belfry, but Saturday saw no delays, allowing the completion of the second round and the start of the third. Both players reached 11 under, returning early to tackle 30 holes of golf.

As the hooter sounded, both were preparing for birdie attempts on the sixth green, with Penge positioned 23 feet away and Hillier just ten feet closer. Tom McKibbin from Northern Ireland trailed by one shot, while Fabrizio Zanotti from Paraguay and South African Shaun Norris were at nine under.

Lead Changes in the Third Round

Hillier, aiming for his second victory at this event after winning in 2023, displayed impressive form in his first tournament since The Open. Starting their third rounds at 6:31 pm, Penge quickly extended his lead to two strokes with an 18-foot birdie on the first hole. However, his lead was short-lived as he struggled on the next hole, allowing Hillier to take the lead with a birdie on the par-five.

Penge managed to level the score again on the fourth hole, and both players parred the fifth before play was halted as daylight faded in the Midlands.
