Dubai: Indian spinner Shree Charani has secured her position at the top of the ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings, achieving a career-high rating of 804 points. This remarkable feat follows her impressive performance of 4 wickets for 20 runs in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka.

This milestone marks the highest rating points ever recorded by an Indian player in the ICC rankings for both bowlers and batters, surpassing the previous record of 780 points set by former captain Mithali Raj in 2011.

Charani is now just two points shy of the all-time highest rating for a women’s T20I bowler, currently held by Australia’s Megan Schutt since November 2018.

Additionally, Deepti Sharma has made significant strides, moving up four spots to second place after finishing as the leading wicket-taker in the Asia Cup with 14 wickets.

Seamer Nandani Sharma has also seen a rise, climbing 10 places to 94th, while leg-spinner Prema Rawat has made a remarkable leap of 50 places to 96th.

In the batting rankings, Shafali Verma has advanced from seventh to sixth place, having been the top run-scorer in the Asia Cup with a total of 236 runs, including notable scores of 64 in the semifinal and 68 in the final. Shafali now holds 741 rating points, her highest since October 2021.

She is just one position and four points behind her teammate Smriti Mandhana, who is in fifth place with 745 points after accumulating 213 runs across five innings.

Shafali has also made notable progress in the all-rounders’ rankings, moving up five spots to 15th with a career-best rating of 221 points.
