Shefali Verma's Remarkable Rise in Rankings

Indian cricket sensation Shefali Verma has made significant strides in the latest ICC Women's T20 International batting rankings, now positioned at sixth place. This advancement comes after her stellar performance in the ongoing five-match T20 series against Sri Lanka, where she showcased her skills on home soil.


The 21-year-old Verma has emerged as the leading run-scorer in the series against Sri Lanka, amassing a remarkable total of 236 runs at an impressive average of 118 across four matches, which includes three half-centuries. She is the only player in this T20 series to surpass the 200-run mark.


Additionally, her teammate and wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh has also seen a rise in the rankings, moving up seven spots to share the 20th position, thanks to her unbeaten 40 runs in the fourth T20 match against Sri Lanka held in Thiruvananthapuram.


Top Players in Women's T20 Rankings

Australian batter Beth Mooney continues to lead the rankings with 794 rating points, followed closely by West Indies' Hayley Matthews at second with 774 points. Indian opener Smriti Mandhana, who recently crossed the milestone of 10,000 international runs during the fourth T20 match against Sri Lanka, holds the third position with 767 rating points.


In the ICC Women's T20 International bowling rankings, Indian fast bowler Renuka Singh and spinner Sri Charani have made notable gains. Renuka, who took four wickets in the third T20 match against Sri Lanka, has climbed eight spots to joint sixth place in the updated list. Meanwhile, Charani, who also claimed four wickets in the series, has surged 17 places to reach the 52nd position.


Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma remains at the top with a rating of 738. She is on the verge of becoming the leading wicket-taker in women's T20 cricket, needing just one more wicket in the upcoming fifth T20 match against Sri Lanka to surpass Australia's Megan Schutt, both currently tied at 151 wickets.
