Shammi Silva has stepped down as the President of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), effective immediately, as confirmed by the board in an official announcement on Wednesday. The resignation extends to the entire leadership team, including all office bearers and members of the Executive Committee, who have also resigned.

"Shammi Silva has resigned from his position as President of Sri Lanka Cricket, effective today. The office bearers and Executive Committee members have submitted their resignations as well," the statement indicated.

These resignations have been officially communicated to Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Sunil Kumara Gamage.

"This decision has been formally communicated to His Excellency President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Sunil Kumara Gamage," the SLC media release noted.

This significant administrative change in Sri Lanka Cricket comes without any immediate explanation for the collective resignations.
