Sangram Singh's MMA Fight Update: New Opponent Steps In After Injury
Change in Opponent for Sangram Singh's Upcoming MMA Fight
New Delhi, March 18: Sangram Singh's scheduled MMA match in Buenos Aires, Argentina, has seen a significant change as his French rival, Mauteu Moteiro, has had to withdraw due to a knee injury.
In a recent announcement, it was confirmed that Florian Coudiere from France will take Moteiro's place in the fight, which is set to occur on April 5 in Tigre, Buenos Aires, as originally planned.
Moteiro expressed his regret to fans, stating that he sustained the injury during training. He conveyed his disappointment about missing out on this important MMA event and thanked his team and family for their support during this challenging time.
Sangram Singh also shared his disappointment regarding Moteiro's exit, noting that his coaches had been preparing by analyzing Moteiro's training footage. He mentioned that Coudiere, his new opponent, has been more discreet in sharing his training progress, which adds an element of unpredictability to the match. Singh pointed out that Coudiere is 15 years younger, making the competition even more intense.
Martin Pakciarz, the organizer from Samurai Fight Association, welcomed Singh to Argentina, highlighting his status as India's top fighter and the excitement surrounding his participation.
Singh's coach, Bhupesh Kumar, reported that preparations are going smoothly. He emphasized the importance of boxing, kickboxing, and jujutsu in MMA, noting that Singh is currently focusing on kickboxing techniques. With three rounds of five minutes each, Singh is also working hard on his endurance and conditioning. He is supported by a dedicated team of seven members as he gears up for this fight.
As a former Commonwealth heavyweight champion and the Brand Ambassador for Fit India, Singh has a rich background in wrestling and is now transitioning into his third MMA fight. He is set to hold a press conference in Delhi on March 24 to discuss his strategies moving forward.
