This victory marked India's inaugural medal in rowing and the overall 14th medal for the nation in the current Asian Games held in Aichi-Nagoya. Despite facing challenges due to last-minute crew changes imposed by the federation, which required the duo to switch from quadruple to double sculls because of weather conditions, they delivered an outstanding performance.

China's Yi Xudi and Nie Yide topped the event with a time of 6:09.77, while Uzbekistan's Pavel Sorin and Mekhrojbek Mamatkulov secured the silver medal with a time of 6:10.49.

From Cab Driver to Medalist

Salman Khan's journey from being a struggling cab driver in New Delhi to an elite athlete is a story of resilience. Hailing from Pure Dhingai in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi district, he is the eldest of six siblings. His life took a drastic turn when his father, Mohammed Kasim Khan, passed away from dengue when Salman was just 18, leaving him to support his family.
