Pro Women's Doubles Final Highlights


Sahra Dennehy and Danni Elle Townsend triumphed in the Pro Women's Doubles category at the Tokyo Open, securing their victory with a decisive 11-4, 11-5 win against Rika Fujiwara and Kei Sawaki. The final took place at the Tachihi Arena in Tachikawa, Japan, from July 1 to July 4, 2026. Their performance was marked by dominance, as they controlled the match from the outset, showcasing aggressive and consistent play.


In the first game, Dennehy and Townsend quickly established their lead, finishing it at 11-4. They maintained their momentum into the second game, effectively shutting down any chances for a comeback from Fujiwara and Sawaki, ultimately closing the match at 11-5 to claim the championship trophy.


Fujiwara and Sawaki also demonstrated impressive skills throughout the tournament, having previously defeated Mayu Ito and Kaitlynn Hart in the Round of 16, followed by a quarterfinal victory over Yufie Long and Andie Dikosavljevic. Their journey culminated in a semifinal win against Yu chieh Hsieh and Sophia Nhi Huynh, earning them a silver medal in the final.


Earlier in the day, the bronze medal was awarded to Yu chieh Hsieh and Sophia Nhi Huynh after they overcame Chloe Diskin and Kiora Kunimoto with a score of 11-7, 11-4 in straight games. Dennehy and Townsend's impressive final performance capped off a successful tournament, solidifying their status as champions at the Tokyo Open.
