Starting the tournament with a solid first-round score of 68, which placed him in the top 10, Theegala faced difficulties in the second round, finishing tied for 30th after a 73 in tough weather conditions. The 28-year-old, known for his dynamic playing style and engaging personality, concluded the first 36 holes at one-over-par. Despite his drop in ranking, he remained just five strokes behind co-leaders Maverick McNealy and Alex Smalley, who both stood at four-under-par 136.

Theegala's Second Round Challenges
