A Dream to Interview Virat Kohli

Sahiba Bali, a sports presenter and actress, shares the same admiration for cricket legend Virat Kohli as millions of fans worldwide. She eagerly anticipates the chance to interview him, particularly before he retires from all formats of cricket. In a recent conversation, she expressed her desire to conduct a meaningful interview with him, stating, "My dream guest is actually Virat Kohli. I would love to interview him before he decides to leave all formats of cricket and move forward."

A Brief Encounter

Although Sahiba has had brief interactions with Virat in the past, hosting him on her newly launched YouTube series, 'Journey to Jersey', would be a significant milestone for her.

Virat Kohli: The Delhi Boy

Sahiba described Virat as a quintessential Delhi boy, a sentiment she resonates with as a fellow Delhiite. She remarked, "Virat has a lot of aura. A full Delhi boy. He has a playful side, but he is equally disciplined. He is a perfect poster child of someone who is a backbencher when he wants to be, but a crossbencher when he is on the field."

'Journey to Jersey': Uncovering Cricketers' Stories

Sahiba's series, 'Journey to Jersey', transcends a typical talk show format. It involves not only discussions with cricketers but also insights from their families, highlighting their contributions to the athletes' journeys. The series captures the essence of their roots and achievements, featuring cricketers like Axar Patel, Venkatesh Iyer, and Varun Chakaravarthy.

"The cricketers who have sacrificed so much, but whose stories are lesser known. I wanted to bring those stories out. It’s not just a regular podcast; we visit the hometowns where these cricketers grew up and became men. We speak to their parents, visit their homes, and show the audience where it all started, how it started, and what sacrifices were made along the way. We also talk to their first coach and their wives, as the audience often overlooks the sacrifices made by their partners. I wanted to shed light on this entire side," Sahiba explained.

Future Plans for the Series

Looking ahead, Sahiba plans to feature more inspiring guests in 'Journey to Jersey', including conversations with players from the Indian women's national cricket team.
