In an exciting match at the MPL T20 Scindia Cup 2026, the Royal Nimar Eagles triumphed over the Jabalpur Royal Lions by 7 wickets. The Lions set a competitive target of 176 runs, led by Abhishek Bhandari's unbeaten 80. The Eagles responded with a strong chase, highlighted by Kanishk Dubey's match-winning 70. In a commanding performance, the Royal Nimar Eagles defeated the Jabalpur Royal Lions by 7 wickets during the Aditya Birla Group Madhya Pradesh League (MPL) T20 Scindia Cup 2026, held at Holkar Stadium in Indore.


Bhandari's Stellar Performance Leads Lions to 176

Batting first, the Jabalpur Royal Lions set a challenging target of 176 runs, scoring 176/6 in their allotted 20 overs. The Lions faced an early challenge when opener Arpit Gaud was dismissed for just 5 runs off 9 balls. However, Ajay Rohera and Abhishek Bhandari steadied the innings with a significant partnership of 89 runs for the second wicket, as reported by the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA).


Rohera contributed a solid 40 runs off 29 balls before his dismissal, while Bhandari showcased his skills, finishing unbeaten on 80 runs from 51 balls, including seven fours and four sixes. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals after Rohera's exit, Bhandari's steady presence ensured the Lions maintained their scoring pace. Punit Datey added a late surge with a quick 15 runs off 6 balls, helping the Lions reach their total.


Eagles Chase Down Target with Ease

In response, the Royal Nimar Eagles started strong, with openers Dharmesh Patel and Himanshu Mantri putting together 47 runs for the first wicket in just 4.1 overs. Patel scored 23 runs off 16 balls before being dismissed, paving the way for Mantri and Kanishk Dubey to continue the chase.


The pair formed a crucial partnership of 76 runs, putting the Eagles in a commanding position. However, Nayan Mewada caused a brief setback by taking two wickets in one over, dismissing Mantri for 45 runs off 30 balls and Anand Bais for a duck.


Captain Saransh Jain joined Dubey, and together they ensured a smooth chase, reducing the target to just 23 runs needed from the last three overs. They maintained control over the bowling attack, leading the Eagles to victory with nine balls remaining. Dubey finished with an impressive 70 runs off 44 balls, while Jain supported him with an unbeaten 32 runs off 20 balls.
