Wrestlemania 42: Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk

Roman Reigns is gearing up for his 11th main event appearance at Wrestlemania, where he will face CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship on the second night of the event. Reigns earned this title shot by winning the Royal Rumble in 2026. The WWE introduced the Heavyweight Championship after Reigns transitioned to a part-time role, and this will mark his first opportunity to compete for it.

Fans are curious about Reigns' future, especially considering his tendency to take extended breaks after completing storylines. Speculation arises whether he will take another hiatus following Wrestlemania or potentially exit the WWE altogether. In a 2025 interview with Vanity Fair, Reigns disclosed that his current WWE contract concludes after Wrestlemania 42. He hinted at a limited timeframe for his wrestling career, stating, "After I finish the contract that I’m in, we probably got another year or two max. Then it’s time to take on a less physical form of entertainment." However, he is confirmed to remain active for the next couple of years, with appearances scheduled for Raw after Wrestlemania 42.

Both Reigns and Punk faced defeats in the main event of Wrestlemania 41 against Seth Rollins, and it will be interesting to see who can bounce back. Additionally, Reigns lost to Cody Rhodes in the main event of Wrestlemania 40.

Wrestlemania 42: Other Matches on Night 2

Rhea Ripley will face Jade Cargill for the WWE Women's Championship, while Penta will defend the Intercontinental Championship in a Ladder Match, with Rey Mysterio also competing for the title. Sami Zayn will defend his United States Championship against Trick Williams, and The Demon Finn Balor will take on Dominik Mysterio in a one-on-one bout. Wrestlemania 42 is set to take place at Allegiant Stadium on April 18 and 19.
