Injury Concerns for Roman Reigns

During this week's WWE Raw, Roman Reigns appeared to sustain an injury following an assault by Jacob Fatu. Medical personnel promptly attended to Reigns, assisting him backstage once the broadcast concluded. Typically, wrestlers exit the ring unaided even when portraying an injury, indicating that Reigns' situation might be serious. Reports suggest he may have injured his left hand. WWE has indicated that the storyline involving Reigns and Fatu is far from over, with a confrontation anticipated at Clash in Italy on May 31.

Reigns successfully defended his title against Fatu in the main event at Backlash, but Fatu ended the show with a powerful attack on the OTC. It remains uncertain if Fatu will secure his first singles championship against Reigns.

Reigns previously captured the World Heavyweight Championship during the main event of Wrestlemania 42. He also won the 2026 Royal Rumble, which granted him a spot in the Wrestlemania main event. Instead of facing Cody Rhodes for a third time, he opted to challenge Punk, ultimately defeating him.

This match marked Reigns' first title defense since losing the Undisputed Universal Championship to Cody at Wrestlemania 40. After taking an extended hiatus, he made his return at SummerSlam. Although he wasn't involved in a title match, Reigns headlined Night 1 of Wrestlemania 41 against Seth Rollins and Punk.

Two World Championships on the Line?

It appears that both men's World Championships will be defended at Clash in Italy, with Reigns set to face his cousin once more. Gunther has been targeting Cody Rhodes on Smackdown, and WWE is expected to confirm this matchup shortly. Cody successfully defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton during the Night 1 main event of Wrestlemania 42, but Orton has been absent from WWE since that major event.
