Rohit Sharma made a remarkable comeback to the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) after a seven-year hiatus, showcasing his talent in a thrilling match for Mumbai against Sikkim at Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium. He played a pivotal role in leading his team to victory with a stunning century.


In pursuit of a target of 237 runs during the 50-over match, Rohit opened the batting and aggressively attacked the bowlers. In front of an enthusiastic crowd, he reached his century in just 62 balls, hitting eight sixes and eight fours. This achievement marked Rohit's fastest century in List A cricket, breaking his previous record of a 63-ball hundred against Afghanistan during the 2023 ODI World Cup.


Rohit concluded his innings with an impressive total of 155 runs off 94 balls, including 18 fours and nine sixes, steering Mumbai to a decisive eight-wicket victory, achieving the target in only 30.3 overs. His outstanding performance earned him the 'Player of the Match' title.

With this performance, Rohit matched Australian cricketer David Warner for the most 150-plus scores in List A cricket, with both players now having nine such scores.


Virat Kohli Shines for Delhi

In another exciting VHT match, Virat Kohli delivered a stellar performance for Delhi against Andhra. He scored a century off 83 balls, contributing significantly to Delhi's successful chase of 299 runs. Kohli finished with 131 runs from 101 balls, including 14 fours and three sixes.


Kohli also reached significant milestones in List A cricket, becoming the second Indian after Sachin Tendulkar to surpass 16,000 runs, and the ninth player overall to achieve this feat. With his 58th List A century, he is now just three centuries away from breaking Sachin's record of 60 List A tons. Notably, Kohli is the fastest player to reach this milestone, accomplishing it in just 330 innings compared to Sachin's 391 innings.
