Riyan Parag's UK Journey

Indian cricketer Riyan Parag, who is also the 'India Super Fan' for the Premier League, recently embarked on a week-long trip to the UK to immerse himself in the thrilling action of the League. As the newly appointed captain of the Rajasthan Royals, he spent his time watching live matches, interacting with players, and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere before reuniting with his teammates for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

A Memorable Matchday

As the Premier League season approaches its climax, Manchester City, the eight-time champions, are chasing league leaders Arsenal. Parag experienced the excitement of being a fan as he attended the live match between City and West Ham United at the 62,500-capacity London Stadium, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Reflecting on his experience, Parag shared, "The Premier League has a huge fanbase in India, and I've followed it since childhood. Being at the London Stadium, surrounded by passionate fans, was truly amazing. The energy and chants created an unforgettable atmosphere. In India, we share similar emotions around cricket, so it felt like home. Living this dream was an incredible experience for me and many fans back home."

Training Ground Insights

Earlier in his visit, Parag had the opportunity to observe West Ham United's training sessions, where he met the team's captain, Jarrod Bowen. They discussed leadership, managing pressure, and the parallels between preparing for significant matches.

"It's fascinating to see how athletes from different sports prepare for important games. Observing their training and spending time with Jarrod highlighted the meticulous detail and discipline required for a Premier League match. We also talked about the importance of keeping the team motivated, especially during tough times. While the sports differ, the mindset in the locker room—hunger, belief, and environment—remains quite similar," Parag noted.

Behind the Scenes at Premier League Productions

Parag wrapped up his week with a visit to the Premier League Productions studio in London, the central hub for broadcasting the League to 189 countries. There, he had the chance to witness the behind-the-scenes operations and meet Premier League legend and Ballon d'Or winner, Michael Owen.
