Reliance Foundation Receives Prestigious Sports Award at FICCI India Sports Awards 2025

On Friday, the Reliance Foundation was awarded the Best Corporate Promoting Sports - High Performance accolade during the FICCI India Sports Awards 2025. Nita M Ambani, the Founder-Chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, expressed that the spirit of sports in India has significantly evolved over the last decade, transitioning from local playgrounds to international stages.

Nita Ambani's Commitment to Sports

During her speech, Nita Ambani emphasized the necessity of ongoing support for Indian athletes in their pursuit of excellence. She stated, "The upcoming decade is poised to be a golden era for Indian sports. Collaborating with the government, corporate entities, organizations like FICCI, and our young athletes and their families, we aspire to establish India as a global multi-sport powerhouse. This endeavor transcends mere medals; it is about nation-building through sports."

Nita Ambani acknowledged the pride that Indian athletes, particularly women, have brought to the nation. She expressed her gratitude to FICCI for the recognition, accepting the award on behalf of the entire Reliance Foundation team. "Over the past ten years, the sporting spirit of India has truly awakened, with our athletes, especially women, consistently bringing honor to the Tricolour," she remarked.

"When our girls compete, every girl child and woman triumphs. When our youth succeed, India flourishes. We firmly believe that every child, regardless of gender, deserves access to sports and education. At Reliance Foundation, we are dedicated to realizing this vision and fostering a healthier, happier, greener, more educated, and inclusive India with a strong sporting culture," she added.

FICCI Global Sports Summit Launch

The FICCI TURF 2025, marking the 15th Global Sports Summit, commenced on Friday at Federation House, uniting leaders from various sectors including government, sports, industry, and diplomacy to outline the future of sports in India. The opening session featured a welcome address from PKSV Sagar, Chairman of the FICCI Sports Committee and President of GMR Sports, who underscored the increasing necessity for collaboration within the sports ecosystem.

This year's theme, "Indian Sports - Forging the Path to Global Excellence," guided discussions focused on global aspirations, innovation, and collective efforts. A significant highlight was the unveiling of the FICCI Knowledge Report titled 'Sporting India Rising' and the India-Australia Strategy for Sports Collaboration, which emphasized the importance of enhancing global partnerships. With Australia as the Partner Country, the summit highlighted emerging opportunities in high-performance systems, coaching, sports science, innovation, and long-term talent development.

Lifetime Achievement Award for PT Usha

The session also celebrated a remarkable moment as PT Usha, Chairperson of the Indian Olympic Association, received the FICCI Lifetime Achievement Award for her exceptional contributions to Indian sports and her role in inspiring future generations of athletes.
