Nirbhay Choudhary set a new national record in men's hammer throw with a remarkable throw of 71.02 meters during the Indian Athletics Final Series 2026. This achievement surpassed the previous record of 70.73 meters held by Neeraj Kumar since 2016. Choudhary's performance was a highlight of the event, where Damneet Singh and Ashish Jakhar followed with throws of 68.12 meters and 67.51 meters, respectively.

In the women's category, Tanya Chaudhary also broke the national record, achieving a distance of 68.35 meters, which exceeded Anushka Yadav's former record of 67.02 meters. Anushka secured second place with a throw of 66.34 meters, while Kulvinder Kaur finished third with 59.13 meters.

Victories for Athletes Preparing for Asian Games

Sprint Success for Animesh Kujur

Animesh Kujur showcased his speed by winning both the men's 100m and 200m events, finishing the 100m in 10.21 seconds and the 200m in 20.59 seconds. He outpaced Gurindervir Singh, who clocked 10.32 seconds in the 100m, while Rushiprasad Desai came in third at 10.33 seconds.

In the men's javelin throw, Rohit Yadav led with a throw of 81.10 meters, followed by Manoj Kumar at 80.73 meters and Yashvir Singh at 80.40 meters.
