Denzel Dumfries Joins Real Madrid
Madrid, Spain - On July 5, Real Madrid, the renowned Spanish football club, announced the acquisition of Dutch international Denzel Dumfries on a four-year contract, extending until June 2030.
The club confirmed that an agreement has been finalized with Dumfries' previous team, Inter Milan, facilitating his transfer to Real Madrid for the next four seasons.
According to the official statement, "Real Madrid CF and Inter Milan have reached an agreement for the transfer of Denzel Dumfries, who will be linked to our club for the next four seasons, until June 30, 2030."
During his tenure at Inter Milan from 2021 to 2026, Dumfries achieved significant success, securing two Serie A championships, a UEFA Champions League title in the 2024-25 season, and three Coppa Italia trophies. He leaves Inter Milan after making 207 appearances, scoring 27 goals, providing 28 assists, and winning eight titles.
Dumfries also played a role in the Netherlands' FIFA World Cup 2026 journey, which ended unexpectedly in the round of 32 after a penalty shootout loss to Morocco, where he contributed two assists.
Prior to his time at Inter Milan, Dumfries played in the Dutch league for Sparta Rotterdam (2014-2017), Heerenveen (2017-2018), and PSV Eindhoven.
