Madrid, May 13: Real Betis clinched the fifth position in La Liga, securing a place in the upcoming UEFA Champions League after defeating Elche 2-1 at home. Meanwhile, Celta Vigo's aspirations were dashed following a 3-2 loss to a revitalized Levante.

Pablo Fornals was instrumental for Betis, assisting Cucho Hernandez for the opening goal just nine minutes into the match, and later netting the decisive goal with a stunning curling shot from outside the box in the 68th minute.

Elche managed to equalize with Hector Fort's goal in the 41st minute, but their chances of a comeback were severely hindered when Leo Petrot received a straight red card for a late tackle on Antony.

This victory marked Betis' first Champions League qualification in 21 years.

Levante, on the other hand, escaped the relegation zone after overcoming Celta Vigo, who had their hopes of catching up to Betis extinguished.

Celta's Ferran Jutgla found the net twice, once in the fourth minute and again in the 48th. However, Levante responded with goals from Kervin Arriaga and Adrian de la Fuente, before Roger Brugue scored a crucial goal that could impact Levante's fight against relegation.

In another match, Atletico Madrid secured a 2-1 victory against Osasuna, with goals from Ademola Lookman and Alexander Sorloth. Osasuna's Raul Moro was injured in the 37th minute, and Atletico faced a setback when Marcos Llorente was sent off in the 79th minute after receiving a second yellow card. Kike Barja scored for Osasuna in stoppage time, but they were unable to equalize.
