In a stunning display of bowling and batting, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) triumphed over the Gujarat Titans (GT) by 92 runs, securing their place in the Indian Premier League (IPL) final for the second consecutive year. This match took place in Dharamsala on Tuesday.


With this victory, RCB aims to clinch their second IPL title. Meanwhile, GT will have another opportunity to reach the final as they face the winner of the eliminator match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Gujarat Titans (GT) on Friday.


RCB's Batting Brilliance

RCB posted an impressive total of 254 runs for 5 wickets, driven by remarkable performances from skipper Rajat Patidar, who scored an unbeaten 93 runs off just 33 balls, alongside Virat Kohli and Krunal Pandya, both contributing 43 runs each.


In response, GT struggled significantly, managing only 162 runs. Rahul Tewatia was the standout performer for GT, scoring 68 runs off 43 balls, while Jos Buttler added 29 runs.


GT's Chase Collapses

GT's batting lineup faltered early, with Jacob Duffy taking 3 wickets for 39 runs and Bhuvneshwar Kumar claiming 2 for 28. The Titans lost their first wicket at 17 runs, and their innings quickly deteriorated.


Sai Sudharsan, who started strong, was dismissed in an unfortunate manner, and the team never recovered from the early blows. They ended up losing wickets at regular intervals, with Duffy and Kumar leading the charge against them.


RCB Sets New Records

RCB's total of 254 runs marks the highest score ever recorded in an IPL playoff or knockout match, surpassing the previous record held by GT.


Patidar's explosive innings, along with contributions from Kohli and others, laid the groundwork for this historic achievement.
