RCB's Dominance in Indian Franchise Cricket

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has established itself as a powerhouse in Indian franchise cricket by securing both the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Women's Premier League (WPL) championships. The Bengaluru-based team claimed the IPL title in the 2025 season under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar, while the women's team celebrated WPL victories in 2024 and 2026.

Historic IPL Victory in 2025

RCB's journey to glory began with their first IPL title in 2025, ending an 18-year wait. They triumphed over Punjab Kings in a nail-biting final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This victory was particularly special as it was dedicated to their iconic player, Virat Kohli, who has been a part of RCB since the league's inception in 2008.

WPL 2026: A Second Title Under Mandhana

Following their IPL success, RCB's women's team, led by Smriti Mandhana, continued to shine, clinching their second WPL title in 2026. In a highly anticipated rematch against Delhi Capitals, who they had previously defeated in the 2024 final, RCB emerged victorious once again.

The final match showcased Mandhana's exceptional performance, scoring 87 runs and forming a crucial partnership of 165 runs for the second wicket with Georgia Voll, who contributed 79 runs off 54 balls. This victory marked RCB's second WPL title, with Mandhana's score being the highest ever recorded in a WPL final.

Chasing a target of 204 runs, Mandhana's team made history, surpassing the previous record held by RCB for the highest successful chase in a WPL final, which was 202 runs against Gujarat Giants last year.
