Ravichandran Ashwin's Controversial LBW Decision Sparks Debate in TNPL 2025
Ashwin's Discontent Over Umpiring Decision
During the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2025 match on June 8, Dindigul Dragons' captain, Ravichandran Ashwin, expressed his frustration towards the on-field female umpire after being ruled out LBW against Tiruppur Tamizhans at the SNR College Cricket Stadium in Coimbatore.
The incident unfolded in the fifth over of Dindigul's innings when Ashwin attempted a paddle sweep against Sai Kishore's spin delivery. Unfortunately, he missed the ball entirely, resulting in it striking his pad. The umpire raised her finger to signal the out decision, catching Ashwin off guard and leading to his visible anger.
Seeking clarification, Ashwin approached the umpire but received little response. He returned to the dugout visibly upset, hitting his pads in frustration over the dismissal, having scored 18 runs. A video capturing this moment was shared by a sports channel on social media.

Following the dismissal of Indrajit, Dindigul found themselves at 61/3, and their batting order crumbled, losing the last seven wickets for a mere 32 runs. Esakkimuthu A was instrumental in this collapse, achieving impressive bowling figures of 4/26.
