Sangakkara Commends Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's Talent

Kumar Sangakkara, the head coach of Rajasthan Royals (RR), has expressed admiration for young batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, highlighting his exceptional talent and understanding of the game. Sangakkara encouraged Sooryavanshi to maintain a relaxed demeanor, enjoy his time on the field, and embrace both successes and setbacks as part of his growth. He acknowledged that despite being young, Sooryavanshi has earned respect within the team, particularly among the senior players. This statement came as Sangakkara addressed reporters ahead of RR's upcoming match against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

Emphasis on Present for Playoff Aspirations

Currently, Rajasthan Royals are positioned fifth in the Indian Premier League standings, having secured six victories out of 11 matches, totaling 12 points. The team is now focused on winning at least two of their remaining games to enhance their chances of reaching the playoffs. Sangakkara stressed the necessity of concentrating on the present rather than looking too far ahead. He mentioned that the team must focus on each match and maintain consistent performance levels. While he noted that the bowling unit is performing well, he pointed out the batting inconsistency, which he deemed typical in T20 cricket. Sangakkara emphasized the importance of self-belief and approaching the remaining matches with confidence and discipline.

"It's easy to get ahead of ourselves. We remind players to stay focused. Winning all our games is a significant challenge for the team. Consistency in our standards is crucial. Our bowling is in a good place, but the batting needs improvement, which is common in T20 cricket. Believing in our skills is essential to overcome any opponent," he added.
