Raiza Dhillon Shines at ISSF Junior World Cup

Suhl, Germany - On May 23, India's skeet shooter Raiza Dhillon achieved a remarkable feat by winning a silver medal at the ISSF Junior World Cup 2025, as reported by various sports outlets.


The 21-year-old athlete, who previously earned a silver at last year's Asian Championships, scored 51 out of 60 shots in the final, placing her second behind Great Britain's Phoebe Bodley-Scott, who secured 53 points.


This victory marks Bodley-Scott's second gold medal at the junior ISSF World Cup, having triumphed at the same venue three years ago. Germany's Annabella Hettmer took home the bronze with a score of 38.


Earlier in the competition, Dhillon qualified for the medal round by finishing second in the qualifiers with a score of 116.


Other Indian participants included Vanshika Tiwari (109), Yashasvi Rathore (106), and Mohika Sisodiya (100), who placed 15th, 19th, and 28th, respectively, in the qualifying rounds.


In the men's skeet event, Harmehar Singh Lally narrowly missed the final, finishing seventh with a score of 117. Zorawar Singh Bedi came in 29th with 112, while Ishaan Singh Libra (111), Jyotiraditya Singh Sisodiya (110), and Atul Singh Rajawat (105) finished 35th, 38th, and 54th, respectively.


In the 10m air pistol mixed team event, India's Urva Chaudhary and Chirag Sharma also fell short of the bronze medal match, finishing fifth in the qualifiers with a score of 576-14x.


Italy's Alessandra Fait and Francesco Rutigliani, who had one more bulls-eye than the Indian duo, finished fourth with the same score and advanced to the playoff for third place.


Currently, India leads the medal tally at the Suhl ISSF Junior World Cup with three medals: one gold and two silvers.


Adriyan Karmakar, son of Olympian Joydeep Karmakar, initiated India's medal count with a silver in the men's 50m rifle prone event, while Kanak clinched gold in the women's 10m air pistol.


A total of 57 athletes represent India at the Suhl event.
