PV Sindhu Triumphs at Hylo Open

Indian badminton star PV Sindhu has claimed her second title of the season by defeating Denmark's Line Kjaersfeldt with scores of 21-12, 21-14 in the women's singles final at the Hylo Open held on Sunday. This victory marks a strong comeback for the two-time Olympic medalist, who had recently finished as the runner-up at the French Open, losing to world No. 1 An Se Young. Sindhu's earlier win at the Japan Open in July makes the Hylo Open her second title on the BWF World Tour this year.

Match Highlights and Tactical Mastery

Sindhu started the first game with confidence, although Kjaersfeldt kept the match competitive early on, leveling the score at 5-5. However, Sindhu quickly took control, leading 11-8 at the interval and finishing the game decisively at 21-12 with her sharp returns and aggressive play.

In the second game, Kjaersfeldt posed a stronger challenge, narrowing the score from 7-3 to 7-6. Yet, Sindhu regained her dominance by capitalizing on her opponent's errors and stretching her across the court. She led 11-7 at the interval and extended her advantage to 19-11. Despite Kjaersfeldt's late attempt to rally, Sindhu maintained her composure to secure the title with a final score of 21-14.

Path to Victory

Sindhu, seeded second, completed the tournament without losing a single game. She began her journey with a straightforward 21-10, 21-10 victory over UAE's Prakriti Bharath, followed by a swift 21-9, 21-6 win against France's Rosy Oktavia Pancasari in just 26 minutes, advancing to the quarter-finals.

In the quarter-finals, she continued her impressive form by defeating Germany's Amalie Schulz with a score of 21-12, 21-10, securing her spot in the semi-finals. There, she faced fellow Indian player Anmol Kharb, a promising 19-year-old, and triumphed 21-13, 21-16 to reach the final. This victory in Germany not only adds to her accolades but also reinforces her strong performance following her recent runner-up finish at the French Open.
