Incident Overview
Shashank Singh, a player for Punjab Kings, along with his father, former IPS officer Shailesh Singh, has reportedly been implicated in a police report following claims of physical and verbal mistreatment made by their cook, Vipendra Singh Tomar. Tomar alleged that he faced abuse after the family expressed dissatisfaction with the meals he prepared. He further claimed that when he indicated his intention to resign, Shailesh Singh, Shashank Singh, and their driver confiscated his mobile phone, compelled him to continue working, and subsequently assaulted him. The Ratibad Police Station in Bhopal has initiated an investigation into the matter as of Monday. Vipendra Singh Tomar, 31, a resident of Rewa, stated that he was brought to Bhopal by an acquaintance, Mohit Singh Sengar, under the pretense of securing a cooking position at Shailesh Singh's residence, with promises of future assistance in obtaining a government job. The arrangement included a monthly salary of ₹15,000, along with food and accommodation at the family's residence in Nilbad.
