Punjab has officially announced its 18-member squad for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy, featuring prominent players like Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, and Arshdeep Singh. The team is set to face Maharashtra in their opening match on December 24. Recently, Gill, who serves as the captain for both ODI and Test formats, faced a setback as he was excluded from the T20 World Cup and the T20 series against New Zealand due to concerns regarding his fitness and form.

Key Players and Team Composition

The squad includes notable batsmen and all-rounders such as Prabhsimran Singh, Naman Dheer, Anmolpreet Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Sanveer Singh, and Harpreet Brar. Alongside Gill, Abhishek, and Arshdeep, Gurnoor Brar and Krish Bhagat will lead the pace attack. However, the availability of Gill, Abhishek, and Arshdeep remains uncertain as India is scheduled to play three ODIs against New Zealand starting January 11, followed by five T20 internationals from January 21.

Last season, Punjab was eliminated in the quarter-finals and will play all seven of their league matches in Jaipur.
