Major Upset in Men's Singles

In a surprising turn of events at the 31st Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship, 21-year-old Pranav Karthik from Tamil Nadu triumphed over fourth seed Udit Kamboj in the second round. After losing the first set 1-6, Karthik rallied back to win the match with scores of 7-6 (7-3), 6-2, completing the match in 2 hours and 31 minutes, as reported by the tournament organizers.

Karthik's Reflections on the Match

Post-match, Karthik expressed his initial doubts about winning after a tough first set. He stated, "I thought I was going to lose for sure after that first set. I focused on serving well and maintaining my service games. The tiebreak felt like a 50-50 chance, but I managed to secure it with a few good points. Gaining confidence from that moment helped me push through the third set, where I broke early and maintained my lead to win the match."
