Prabhsimran Singh Credits Yuvraj Singh for His Success

Prabhsimran Singh mentioned that he started slowly because he didn't get many balls to play during the powerplay, managing to face only 6 or 7 balls out of 36. He stated:

“I had complete faith in myself, as I didn’t get many balls to play in the powerplay. So, I was counting the balls initially. I think I faced only 6-7 balls during the powerplay. But then I thought that if I take a little more time, I can play well. So, I kept my confidence that I could do it, and I did.”

He acknowledged Yuvraj Singh for his remarkable performance, saying:

“Absolutely, sir, I worked very hard. In fact, during the off-season, I practiced a lot with Yuvraj Singh (Yuvraj Paji). Whenever I talk to him, he says that I have plenty of time, and I can play a bit longer, so I kept that in mind that if I play till the end, I can win.”

Regarding facing Allah Gajnafar, Prabhsimran Singh commented:

“I thought about the spinners that if I don’t let them take wickets, since the ball was gripping, it would be easier to play against the other bowlers.”

Insights on Team Strategy and Captaincy

Prabhsimran Singh shared insights on the team's strategy and the importance of aggressive play from the first ball:

“Initially, when we chase 200 runs, we need to take full advantage of the powerplay, but sometimes the wickets aren’t conducive, as was the case today. Therefore, playing long shots is also crucial.”

He praised his captain Shreyas Iyer, stating:

“Our captain is excellent. As a captain, when he speaks, we gain clarity. He is also performing exceptionally well with the bat, making it easier to play alongside him.”
