Pickleball: The New Trend for Enhancing Workplace Culture
Pickleball's Rise in Corporate Settings
Pickleball is increasingly being integrated into workplace environments as companies seek to enhance employee engagement and wellness. A recent report highlights that Pickleball Play 365, an indoor facility located in Mentor, has launched Preferred Corporate Pickleball Memberships designed to foster team bonding and boost morale.
This initiative provides local businesses with a structured approach to incorporate pickleball into their wellness programs, offering options for employer-sponsored memberships or discounted access. Eddie Corsi from Pickleball Play 365 noted that numerous companies have already utilized the facility for corporate events.
Organizations like Park Place Tech, Nissan of Mentor, Avery Dennison, and STERIS have engaged in activities such as outings, leagues, and training sessions, leading to the establishment of a specialized corporate membership model. This program includes various benefits aimed at promoting participation, such as discounted membership rates, free introductory classes, reduced fees for leagues and court bookings, and priority scheduling for events.
Ben Beasley, the owner of Pickleball Play 365, mentioned that companies are adopting diverse strategies regarding the membership offerings. “Many employers opt to cover membership costs as part of their wellness initiatives, while others simply provide discounted memberships for their employees,” he explained. Regardless of the approach, employees enjoy the same preferred pricing and access to a professional and welcoming facility.
The facility is designed for regular use, featuring high-quality courts, excellent lighting, and a social atmosphere conducive to both play and interaction. It accommodates sessions before and after work, as well as company-sponsored events. The rapid growth of pickleball has made it an appealing choice for businesses, as the sport is easy to learn and accessible to various age groups, promoting physical activity while also aiding in stress relief and teamwork.
Pickleball Play 365 has emerged as a central hub for corporate engagement, organizing a variety of activities including team-building sessions, employee appreciation days, tournaments, and client events. Corsi expressed optimism about the response from businesses, stating, “The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive; they appreciate the facility and the atmosphere, and they continue to utilize our courts.” He noted that while players come from across Northeast Ohio, corporate participation has primarily been from Mentor and nearby areas.
In addition to corporate initiatives, the facility also hosts charity events and community-focused programs. Corsi emphasized the organization’s commitment to giving back, continuing to offer leagues, tournaments, and open play sessions while providing businesses with flexible packages tailored to their specific needs. With increasing demand and strong early adoption, pickleball is swiftly becoming a vital tool for workplace engagement, merging fitness, social interaction, and team development into one cohesive platform.
