The Odisha volleyball teams delivered outstanding performances at the 26th Youth National Volleyball Championship, with both the men's and women's squads topping their pools and advancing to the quarterfinals. The men's team showcased dominance with two convincing victories, while the women's team displayed resilience and skill, securing their place in the next round. Odisha's Dominance at the Youth National Volleyball Championship


Bhubaneswar: The third day of the 26th Youth National Volleyball Championship 2025–26, held at the Biju Patnaik Multipurpose Indoor Stadium, KIIT Deemed to be University, showcased an impressive performance by the Odisha teams, with both the men's and women's squads emerging as leaders in their pools and advancing to the quarterfinals.


The Odisha men's team continued their strong performance in the tournament, achieving two significant wins that highlighted their offensive and defensive prowess.


In their opening match, Odisha dominated Chhattisgarh, winning decisively in straight sets (3-0). Their next encounter against Andhra Pradesh proved to be more challenging. After winning the first two sets, they faced a setback in the third but rallied back to secure the fourth set in a thrilling finish (3-1). These victories ensured the Odisha men's team remained unbeaten in their pool, showcasing their consistency and confidence as they moved forward to the quarterfinals.


On the women's side, the Odisha team exhibited equal skill and determination. They started the day with a remarkable comeback against West Bengal, recovering after losing the first set to win the next three sets with impressive teamwork and aggression (3-1). They continued their success with another strong performance against Himachal Pradesh, winning convincingly (3-0).


The Odisha women's team also finished their pool undefeated, claiming the top spot and securing their place in the quarterfinals. Achyuta Samanta, Chief Patron of the Volleyball Federation of India and President of the Odisha Volleyball Association, praised both teams for their exceptional performances.
