Exciting Conclusion of the Northeast Dirt Track Challenge 2025


Guwahati, July 28: The 2025 edition of the Northeast Dirt Track Challenge wrapped up successfully at the AEI Playground in Chandmari, showcasing an exhilarating display of motorsport prowess.


Featuring over 80 competitors from Assam, Meghalaya, and Sikkim, the event spanned seven thrilling categories, highlighting not only talent but also a commitment to road safety and responsible riding.


Since its inception in 1991, this event has evolved into a premier platform advocating for safer riding practices and providing a legitimate alternative to illegal street racing.


This year's challenge was organized in collaboration with the Department of Transport, Government of Assam, emphasizing the state's dedication to fostering positive behavioral changes among youth regarding road safety.


The event was inaugurated by Pijush Hazarika, the Minister for Water Resources, Information & Public Relations, who praised the initiative for offering young riders a structured avenue to pursue their passion.


Notable attendees included Pranab Lahkar, vice chairman of the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC), and Partha Sarathi Mahanta, Commissioner of Police and IGP (Traffic & Road Safety).


Hazarika expressed his satisfaction with the riders' performances, wishing them success in future competitions at both regional and national levels.


The races included categories such as Expert, Novice, Beginners, Open, Assam Open, 2-Stroke, and Non-Geared, where participants skillfully navigated challenging curves and dirt tracks.
