New Zealand's Hopes for the Second ODI

New Zealand's Nick Kelly expressed his desire for Indian stars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to have a quiet outing in the upcoming second ODI at Niranjan Shah Stadium on Wednesday.

In the first ODI held in Vadodara, India secured a four-wicket victory over New Zealand, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. The Indian team faced a challenge after Kohli was dismissed for 93 runs, but KL Rahul's composed innings of 29 not out off 21 balls helped clinch the win in the penultimate over.

India successfully chased down a target of 301 runs, achieving the goal in the second last over, thanks to a solid partnership between Rahul and Washington Sundar.

Kelly's Thoughts Ahead of the Match

'Facing some of the best players in the world is thrilling for any cricket fan,' Kelly remarked to the media before the second ODI. 'I hope they don't score too many runs.'

The 32-year-old is eager for an exciting match following the nail-biting finish of the first ODI. 'It was a close game a couple of days ago, and it's great to be here today. The practice wicket looks beautiful, so I'm looking forward to another thrilling encounter tomorrow.'

'The last game was intense, and we had some good discussions over the past couple of days. We're aiming to level the series at 1-1,' Kelly added.
