New Indoor Cricket Facility Opens in Assam to Boost Player Development

A new indoor cricket facility has been inaugurated at the ACA Cricket Academy in Assam, enhancing the state's cricket infrastructure. This state-of-the-art facility spans 17,000 square feet and features nine cricket wickets, a gym, and physiotherapy services. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia highlighted its importance for the development of future cricketers in Assam, ensuring year-round training regardless of weather conditions. The facility aims to provide comprehensive support for player training, fitness, and recovery, fostering the next generation of cricket talent in the region.
 

Inauguration of a State-of-the-Art Cricket Facility

A significant advancement in Assam's cricket infrastructure was marked by the inauguration of one of India's largest indoor cricket facilities at the ACA Cricket Academy in Fulung, North Guwahati, on Friday. This new facility aims to enhance player training, development, fitness, and recovery throughout the year.


The inauguration ceremony was graced by Honorary BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia, along with ACA Secretary Sanatan Das, ACA Treasurer Anupam Deka, ACA Apex Council Member Mukutananda Bhattacharjya, and other dignitaries.


Facility Features and Amenities

Covering an area of around 17,000 square feet, the indoor facility boasts nine cricket wickets, including four designed for spin and five for seam bowling. These wickets are fitted with high-quality imported Uniturf surfaces, allowing players to practice under diverse conditions.


The facility is equipped with separate changing rooms for male and female players, each featuring ice bath facilities to aid in post-training recovery.


Additionally, a dedicated gymnasium of 1,500 square feet is part of the facility, complemented by wellness amenities such as a sauna and steam room.


A physiotherapy center is also included, focusing on player rehabilitation, injury management, and recovery, ensuring comprehensive support for athletes beyond their training.


BCCI Secretary Highlights Importance of Modern Infrastructure

Saikia emphasized that the new indoor facility at the ACA Cricket Academy is crucial for providing modern training, fitness, recovery, and physiotherapy resources to nurture the future of cricket in Assam.


"Establishing modern cricket infrastructure is vital for fostering an environment where players can learn, train, and advance. The new Indoor Cricket Facility at the ACA Cricket Academy combines quality playing surfaces with fitness and recovery amenities, all in one location. I am optimistic that this facility will significantly aid the next generation of cricketers from Assam and support their long-term growth," stated the BCCI Honorary Secretary.

This new indoor facility will facilitate uninterrupted training throughout the year, regardless of weather conditions, allowing the ACA Cricket Academy to implement structured training programs effectively. It will assist players in honing their skills, maintaining physical fitness, and preparing for the challenges of competitive cricket at advanced levels.
