Neeraj Chopra's World Championships Journey Ends Early: What Happened?
Neeraj Chopra's Disappointing Exit from World Championships
Tokyo: Neeraj Chopra, the reigning champion, faced an unexpected exit from the men's javelin throw final at the World Championships on Thursday. His best throw measured 84.03 meters, placing him in eighth position overall.
After his fourth attempt, Chopra was already in eighth place and unfortunately fouled his fifth throw, which led to his elimination from the event.
Only the top six competitors advance to the sixth and final round.
In a surprising turn, Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem from Pakistan also exited the competition after the fourth round.
On a brighter note, fellow Indian athlete Sachin Yadav remains in contention, currently sitting in fourth place with a throw of 86.27 meters.
