Despite this achievement, fans of the Mumbai franchise are experiencing heightened anxiety due to a surprising historical trend.

Historically, whenever the Mumbai Indians have not finished in the top two positions of the IPL standings, they have failed to secure the championship title. The team has finished in the top two six times, and on each occasion, they advanced to the finals. Conversely, they have placed third or fourth four times, resulting in elimination before the title match. This record has left fans concerned about whether Hardik Pandya's team can secure a top-two finish this season.
