Player Replacements for Mumbai Indians

The Mumbai Indians (MI) have announced the signing of Mahipal Lomror to replace the injured Quinton de Kock. Additionally, Ruchit Ahir has been brought in to fill the spot of the injured Raj Angad Bawa for the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).

Lomror, a seasoned batting all-rounder, has participated in 40 IPL matches and has previously played for the Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He has also been part of the Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans squads, although he did not play in any matches for them. His contract with MI is valued at Rs 50 lakh.

Ruchit Ahir, who is 25 years old, has a record of 16 List A and 12 T20 matches with Saurashtra. He joins MI for Rs 30 lakh.

Upcoming Challenges for Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals

As the IPL 2026 season progresses, the Mumbai Indians find themselves already eliminated from playoff contention. They aim to conclude their season on a high note.

Conversely, the Rajasthan Royals are in a critical position, needing a win to secure their playoff spot. A defeat against MI could complicate their chances, making them reliant on the outcomes of other matches.
