In the 2025 season, the team triumphed in the eliminator and advanced to Qualifier 2, but their historical performance in this stage has been less than stellar. The franchise has never won Qualifier 2 after securing victory in the eliminator.
To date, Mumbai Indians have participated in Qualifier 2 on four occasions, and surprisingly, they have won twice while suffering defeats in the other two matches.
