Siraj Approaches Milestone in Final Test

London [UK], July 30: Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj is just one wicket shy of reaching the significant milestone of 200 wickets in international cricket.

He has the opportunity to achieve this feat during the fifth and concluding Test match against England at The Oval in London. Following a psychologically uplifting draw at Old Trafford, Team India is determined to level the series at 2-2 and finish on a high note.

For this to happen, Siraj, who has been a key bowler for the team, needs to deliver a strong performance. In the fourth Test at Old Trafford, he faced challenges, conceding 140 runs in 30 overs while claiming only one wicket, that of Chris Woakes, resulting in an economy rate of 4.70.

Throughout this series, Siraj has emerged as one of the joint-second-highest wicket-takers, securing 14 wickets at an average of 39.71, with his standout performance being a six-wicket haul at Edgbaston. Alongside Bumrah, he has been India's leading wicket-taker.

In his 100 international appearances, Siraj has accumulated 199 wickets at an average of 29.09, with his best bowling figures being 6/15. He has achieved five five-wicket hauls in his career.

Tests have proven to be his most successful format, where he has taken 114 wickets in 40 matches at an average of 31.84, including four five-wicket hauls, all recorded outside of Asia, with one each in Australia, England, the West Indies, and South Africa.

Siraj boasts a commendable record in England, having taken 37 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 36.16, with his best figures being 6/70.

Will Siraj showcase his 'Miyan Magic' at The Oval? The last time he played at this venue, during the ICC World Test Championship final against Australia, he claimed five wickets, including a four-wicket haul in the first innings.
