Bathinda, after a shaky start, managed to post a competitive total of 184 runs, thanks to key contributions from Harnoor Singh and Shahbaz Sandhu. However, Mohali Kings, led by Ramandeep Singh's stellar 71 runs, successfully chased down the target, showcasing their resilience and skill. In a thrilling encounter at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali, the Mohali Kings showcased their prowess by defeating the Bathinda Royals by five wickets, thus securing a place in the semi-finals of the Sher-E-Punjab T20 League. Bathinda Royals, batting first, managed to recover from a shaky start to set a challenging target of 184 runs for the Kings.


Bathinda Royals' Struggles and Recovery


The Royals faced early difficulties, finding themselves at 17/2, with opener Uday Saharan among the early dismissals, as noted in a press release from the Sher-E-Punjab T20 League. To stabilize their innings, Bathinda required a solid partnership.


Harnoor Singh and Gourav Choudhary rose to the occasion, forming a vital 74-run partnership for the third wicket. Their composed batting helped Bathinda regain momentum.


However, Mohali Kings managed to break this partnership, putting Bathinda under pressure once again. Harnoor scored a commendable 43 runs off 36 balls, while Gourav contributed 35 runs off 22 balls. Their dismissals left Bathinda at 93/4, necessitating a strong finish.


Ridham Satyawan added a quick 31 runs off 19 balls, but it was Shahbaz Sandhu who provided the late fireworks, scoring an unbeaten 38 runs off 23 balls, leading Bathinda to a total of 184/6. Ayush Goyal was the standout bowler for Mohali Kings, taking 2 wickets for 27 runs in four overs.

Chasing a target of 185, Mohali Kings faced an early setback, finding themselves at 4/2. However, Anmolpreet Singh and Ramandeep Singh steadied the innings with a crucial 52-run partnership for the third wicket.


Anmolpreet played aggressively, scoring 49 runs off 28 balls before falling just short of a half-century. Despite losing a few wickets, Ramandeep Singh remained calm and continued to score freely at the I.S. Bindra Stadium, known for hosting international matches. He delivered a match-winning performance, finishing with an impressive 71 runs off 36 balls.


Sohraab Dhaliwal supported him well, contributing an unbeaten 40 runs off 20 balls. Together, they ensured a smooth finish for Mohali Kings, completing the chase without further setbacks.
