The 2026 Major League Pickleball Mid-Season Tournament kicked off in Grand Rapids with several teams showcasing their dominance. The Las Vegas Night Owls, Miami Pickleball Club, SoCal Hard Eights, and Orlando Squeeze all achieved impressive 3-0 victories, advancing to the next round. Exciting Start to the 2026 Major League Pickleball Tournament


The 2026 Major League Pickleball (MLP) Mid-Season Tournament commenced in Grand Rapids, showcasing a series of one-sided matches. Teams such as the Las Vegas Night Owls, Miami Pickleball Club, SoCal Hard Eights, and Orlando Squeeze all achieved impressive 3-0 victories, propelling them into the next round.


The Las Vegas Night Owls kicked off the event with a decisive win against Team Australia. In women's doubles, Callie Smith and Chao Yi Wang secured an 11-9 victory, followed by Clayton Powell and Roscoe Bellamy who triumphed 11-4 in men's doubles. The duo of Chao Yi Wang and Roscoe Bellamy then sealed the match with an 11-4 win in mixed doubles.


Similarly, the Miami Pickleball Club had a strong performance, defeating the California Black Bears 3-0. Estee Widdershoven and Isabella Dunlap won their women's doubles match 11-4, while Dylan Frazier and Yuta Funemizu mirrored that score in men's doubles. The mixed doubles saw Isabella Dunlap and Dylan Frazier overcoming Emma Nelson and Pablo Tellez with an 11-6 score.


The SoCal Hard Eights also showcased their skills, overpowering Team Canada with a clean sweep. Meghan Dizon and Cailyn Campbell won the women's doubles, while Armaan Bhatia and Will Mackinnon took the men's doubles. Dizon and Bhatia then clinched the mixed doubles with a commanding 11-2 victory.


Completing the list of dominant performances, the Orlando Squeeze achieved a 3-0 win against Team Europe. Milan Rane and Lacy Schneemann won the women's doubles, followed by Federico Staksrud and Yates Johnson in men's doubles. Rane and Staksrud then finished the match with another mixed doubles victory.


With the first round concluded, the victorious teams are now one step closer to claiming the title. Today's matches will feature several second-round contests, including the Miami Pickleball Club facing the New Jersey 5s and the Utah Black Diamonds going up against the Columbus Sliders. The outcomes of these games will determine which teams advance in their quest for the Mid-Season Tournament trophy.
