Maitreya Bhagat's Remarkable Performance


Maitreya Bhagat concluded a stellar run at the Indian Open, a PWR 1000 event sanctioned by the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA), by clinching a bronze medal in the Pro men's singles division after several intense matches. In an interview with Pickleball Now, Bhagat shared his thoughts on the competition, stating, "I secured the bronze medal in the pro men’s singles category. The match against Bhupati was extremely challenging."


Despite not winning a pivotal match, Bhagat was gracious in acknowledging his opponent's skill. "Congratulations to him. I lost in the third set, but he played exceptionally well," he remarked. The tournament also featured another thrilling match for Bhagat. "I had another intense game against Raman; kudos to both of them," he added, emphasizing the high level of competition.


Bhagat also congratulated fellow competitor Anish for sharing the bronze medal with him, saying, "I’d like to congratulate Anish as well for winning the bronze and sharing it with me." Reflecting on the overall experience, he expressed his contentment with his performance on home turf, stating, "This was one of the best tournaments held in India. I’m just pleased that I could perform well and earn a medal in the singles category."
