Early Jolts and Powerplay Fightback
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) began their innings with a bang after being put to bat, as opener Josh Inglis aggressively targeted PBKS pacer Arshdeep Singh, scoring 16 runs in the first over. However, the tide turned quickly when Azmatullah Omarzai dismissed Arshin Kulkarni for a golden duck in the next over. Marco Jansen followed suit, clean bowling Nicholas Pooran for just two runs, leaving LSG in a precarious position at 20/2.
The fifth over saw a resurgence as Ayush Badoni took on Marco Jansen, scoring 18 runs and lifting LSG to 42/2. He maintained his aggressive style in the subsequent over, hitting Omarzai for 22 runs. Despite the early setbacks, Lucknow concluded the powerplay at 66/2.

Following Badoni's exit, captain Rishabh Pant and opener Josh Inglis kept the scoreboard ticking with consistent boundaries, bringing LSG to 100/3 by the end of the 10th over.
Inglis reached his half-century in 28 balls during the 14th over. However, Chahal struck again, breaking the 65-run partnership by removing Pant for 26 off 22 balls, which included three fours. At this point, Lucknow stood at 134/4.
Samad's Late Cameo Propels LSG to 196
After Pant's dismissal, runs continued to flow as LSG reached 157/4 in 16 overs. However, on the last ball of the 17th over, all-rounder Shashank Singh took the vital wicket of opener Josh Inglis, who scored a solid 72 off 44 balls, featuring nine fours and two sixes. At this moment, the Super Giants were at 169/5.
In the next over, Jansen claimed his second wicket by dismissing Mukul Choudhary for just one run. In the final over, Arshdeep Singh conceded 17 runs, allowing LSG to finish with a competitive total of 196/6. Abdul Samad remained not out with a brisk 37 off 20 balls, hitting three fours and three sixes.
