Shaleen Jain, a representative of the Lucknow Leopards, expressed his pride following the unveiling of the Indian team's jersey and the announcement of their sponsorship for the upcoming Pickleball World Cup. This prestigious event is set to take place in Da Nang, Vietnam, from August 30 to September 6. The Lucknow Leopards, a prominent franchise in the Indian Pickleball League (IPBL), officially declared their sponsorship of the Indian national pickleball team on June 26 during an event in Gurugram, where top talents in the sport are currently competing.

“Lucknow Leopards is a significant franchise within the IPBL, and we are thrilled to be associated with the World Cup. We are sponsoring the Pro Category World Cup team of India,” Shaleen stated in an interview after the jersey launch.

The newly launched jersey symbolizes the franchise's dedication to advancing pickleball in India. Players will don this jersey during the World Cup, marking the first time the event will be hosted in Asia. Bennett University and Pickleball Now have also joined as co-sponsors of this initiative.

This tournament is poised to be the richest pickleball event in India, featuring a total prize pool of Rs 10,00,000, with Rs 2,00,000 allocated for each of the five Pro categories: Men's Singles, Men's Doubles, Women's Singles, Women's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles.

Designated as a PWR 700 event, the Lucknow Leopards Championship will award points that contribute to national rankings, making it one of the most significant domestic pickleball tournaments in India. This designation is expected to attract the country's top-ranked players, who will compete not only for monetary rewards but also for essential ranking points.

Moreover, this championship is part of the Road to IPBL series, a program that allows standout players to qualify for the IPBL Player Auction, giving them a chance to represent a franchise in the Indian Pickleball League.
