Local Star Milli Returns Home After Leading Indian Women's Korfball Team
Celebration in Indora for Milli's Remarkable Achievement
Joy filled the air in Indora as local hero Milli returned after her remarkable stint as captain of the Indian women's team at the Under-21 World Korfball Championship in Selangor, Malaysia. Her accomplishment of leading the team on an international platform has instilled immense pride in Himachal Pradesh.
With MLA Malendra Rajan away in Ladakh for party duties, his wife Anju Wala took the initiative to visit Milli’s family and extend her congratulations. She commended Milli for her commitment, hard work, and determination, highlighting that she is the first player from Himachal to lead the Indian women's korfball team, marking a significant milestone in the state's sports history.
Anju Wala expressed that Milli’s success is not just a source of pride for Indora but also serves as an inspiration for the daughters and youth of the area. She expressed her belief that Milli will continue to excel, bringing further honor to both the state and the nation.
Family members, including her grandfather Baldev Singh, grandmother Sudesh Devi, father Kanwar Singh, mother Jeevan Thakur, uncle Karan Singh, aunt Neetu Thakur, and brother Viraj Thakur, gathered to celebrate her return.
The celebration was graced by the presence of DSP Sanjeev Kumar, Women’s Block President Sunita Katoch, former Deputy Pradhan Manohar Singh, Ranjit Pathania, Youth Congress President Vijendra Pathania, and Neeraj, among others.
