Lavanya Gupta Surges Ahead in Women's Pro Golf Tour

In Gurugram, Haryana, Lavanya Gupta has overtaken overnight leader Jasmine Shekar to seize the top position after two rounds in the fifth leg of the Women's Pro Golf Tour held at the DLF Golf and Country Club. After finishing Day 1 just one shot behind Jasmine, Lavanya managed to score an even par 72, while Jasmine recorded a 2-over 74, dropping her behind by one stroke.

Both competitors faced challenges towards the end of their rounds. Lavanya recorded bogeys on the 14th and 17th holes, while Jasmine suffered a double bogey on the 15th. Overall, Lavanya's performance included three birdies and three bogeys, leading her to a total score of 1-under 143, compared to Jasmine's even par total of 144.

Durga Nittur delivered the best round of the day with a score of 2-under 70, featuring five birdies and three bogeys, which propelled her into third place at 1-over 145.

Young talents Saanvi Somu (75-73) and Mannat Brar (72-76) are tied for fourth, while Amandeep Drall (75-74) stands alone in sixth place.

Amateur Mahreen Bhatia improved her score significantly, shooting a 72 after a previous 78, tying for seventh with Aradhana Manikandan (78-72) and former Hero Order of Merit winner Sneha Singh (76-74).

Khushi Khanijau (75-77) and Vidhatri Urs (74-78) completed the top ten at 8-over 152.

Several prominent players struggled on the challenging DLF Golf and Country Club course, with Neha Tripathi (77-78) and Tvesa Malik (78-77) tied for 14th, while Ridhima Dilawari (78-82) was tied for 24th.

This week's tournament features a record 57 players competing for a prize purse of Rs 18 lakh. The cut after 36 holes was set at 168, allowing 41 players to advance to the final round.

Lavanya, Jasmine, and Durga, all within a single shot of each other, will compete in the lead group as they navigate a course that requires both precision and skill.
