The Kuala Lumpur Open, a prominent event on the PPA Tour Asia, is scheduled to take place from May 13 to 17, marking the second tournament of the season. This event is anticipated to attract considerable interest from across the region, highlighting Asia's expanding role in the global pickleball scene. With participation expected from top international and regional athletes, the tournament is set to deliver intense competition and an exciting atmosphere for both fans and players.

The season will commence with the MB Hanoi Cup, which is slated for April 1-5, establishing a competitive tone for the upcoming tour.

The organizers of the Kuala Lumpur Open have announced the registration fees, which are set at $54 for both Amateur and Pro categories. Additionally, the fees for category diversification are $36 for amateurs and $70 for professionals. This pricing structure aims to welcome a diverse range of participants, from novice players to experienced professionals. Competitors are encouraged to select their categories wisely based on their skill levels and rankings, as multiple entries may affect scheduling and readiness for matches.

To register, players must pay a base fee and enroll in at least one category to qualify for participation. The organizers, 9Pickle, have stated that anyone can register for the Pro Qualifiers, although signing up does not guarantee a spot.

Last year's Kuala Lumpur Open took place in September at 9Pickle, Setia Alam, where Yufei Long from China clinched the Pro Women’s Singles title, while Vietnam's Giang Trinh won the men's singles. The women’s doubles title went to Jamie Wei and Xiao Yi Wang-Beckvall, and India’s Harsh Mehta and Vanshik Kapadia secured the Pro Men’s doubles title, with Vanshik also winning the mixed doubles alongside Nicola Schoeman.

Prominent players such as Christian Alshon, Connor Garnett, Max Freeman, Riley Newman, and Zane Navratil are expected to participate in this year's event.
