Krunal Pandya Praises Virat Kohli's Commitment

Krunal Pandya, an all-rounder for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), expressed admiration for his teammate Virat Kohli, noting that Kohli's relentless drive and preparation serve as a source of inspiration for those around him.


During an appearance on JioStar's 'Superstars', Krunal reflected on the privilege of once again sharing the dressing room with Kohli, emphasizing the former Indian captain's unwavering dedication to the sport. 'I've gained so much just by observing Virat Kohli, particularly his approach to tournament preparation and the intensity he brings to every practice session. Having played alongside him for India during his captaincy and also against him, I feel fortunate to be in the same team again,' Krunal remarked.


Kohli's Unmatched Passion

The 35-year-old all-rounder noted that Kohli's passion for the game remains as strong as ever, even after years at the pinnacle of cricket. 'What stands out is his insatiable hunger. His eyes reveal everything. The same intensity in every practice session and the relentless desire to improve define him. I believe that regardless of the era he played in, he would still be regarded as one of the greatest. I feel there is still much more for Virat to contribute to the sport,' he added.


Krunal's Aspirations for the Indian Team

Krunal also shared his aspirations to return to the Indian national team, stating that representing his country remains his ultimate dream.


While he finds satisfaction in winning the Indian Premier League (IPL) title and consistently performing in the tournament, he emphasized that wearing the India jersey again is his primary goal.


Having last played for India in 2021, Krunal has participated in five ODIs, scoring 130 runs and taking two wickets, and in 19 T20Is, he has made 124 runs and claimed 15 wickets.


'Winning the IPL and performing well has been fulfilling. However, every cricketer has a dream. Since childhood, my aspiration has always been to represent my country. That dream remains unchanged. Playing for India is the greatest honor and achievement for me, and wearing the Blue Jersey again is a dream that is still alive,' he expressed.


'I aim to continue my current performance and earn that opportunity once more. I'm hopeful for that,' he concluded.


RCB's Thrilling Victory

In a nail-biting finish, RCB triumphed over the Mumbai Indians by two wickets on Sunday.


Krunal played a pivotal role, scoring 73 runs off 46 balls, which was crucial in securing the win. RCB found themselves struggling at 39/3 in just over five overs while chasing a target of 167. Krunal formed a vital 55-run partnership with Jacob Bethell (27) and a 37-run partnership with Jitesh Sharma (18) to bring RCB closer to their goal before being dismissed in the 18th over after hitting two sixes off Allah Ghazanfar's bowling.


Despite battling cramps, Krunal's performance was commendable as he delivered when it was most needed.
